Historical Context
Tamiya TS spray paint is a synthetic lacquer that hardens in a short timeframe. This spray paint is perfect for covering large model surfaces effectively. Tamiya spray paints remain unaffected by acrylic or enamel paints. As a result, after completing the assembly painting, finer details can be applied using either enamel or acrylic paints.
Each can has a volume of 100ml, sufficient for covering 2 or 3 model car bodies at a 1/24 scale.
TS-13 Clear is significant for clear coating metallic finishes to achieve a smoother overall appearance.
Allow the base paint to fully cure before applying TS-13 to avoid issues like cracking due to differing curing rates. For optimal results, curing should be up to one week.
It is essential to test the clear coat on decals prior to applying it to the finished model, as the clear coat may damage decals.
NOTE: Tamiya TS paint is unsuitable for clear Polycarbonate/LEXAN R/C body shells as it will peel off.
