Historical Context
Tamiya TS spray paint is a synthetic lacquer that cures quickly. This spray paint is highly effective for painting expansive model surfaces without affecting the underlying layers of acrylic or enamel paints. After the final assembly is painted, additional details can be added using enamel or acrylic paints.
Each aerosol can contains 100ml of paint, sufficient to cover 2 to 3 model car bodies scaled 1/24. TS-65 Pearl Clear gives a pearlescent finish, enhancing automotive models significantly.
Ensure the underlying paint is clear-coated and fully cured before applying TS-65 to prevent potential cracking caused by differing curing rates. A curing period of up to one week is recommended for optimal results.
Testing clear coats over decals before application is advised, as some decals may be damaged by clear coatings. NOTE: Tamiya TS paint is unsuitable for clear Polycarbonate/LEXAN R/C body shells, as it may flake. For these applications, Tamiya PS spray paint is recommended.
