- Finishing: Colors with an X designation offer a glossy finish, while XF colors are flat.
- Thinner: Thinning for airbrushing can be accomplished with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic thinner.
- Flattering: Items 81521 and 81021 can act as a flattening agent for glossy paints. Mix the gloss with flat base at a ratio of 1:1.
