- Finishing: Colors labeled X have a glossy finish, while those with XF are flat.
- Thinner: Thinning for airbrushing can be done with Tamiya X-20A Acrylic thinner.
- Flattering: Items 81521 and 81021 (Tamiya X-21 Flat Base) can act as a flattening agent for Tamiya Gloss paints; mix in a ratio of 1:1.
- Using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner can provide quicker drying and a harder finish when thinning for airbrushing.
- For enhanced brush results, utilize Tamiya Paint Retarder (item 87114) for a smoother finish.
